Free Viewer is a software application which enables you to open and edit to some extent, all sort of items, be them text, images, videos, songs or scripts.
The installation process does not bring any surprises and upon completing it, you come face to face with a highly intuitive and simple GUI, which allows both novice and power users to work with it, without experiencing problems. In addition to that, it contains a menu bar, several shortcut buttons and a large panel in which to view the opened documents.
This utility integrates a very long list of file formats it can be associated with, such as AVI, BMP, CR2, CSS, DLL, DOC, ERF, FLAC, FLV, GIF, HTML, ICO, INI, JAR, JPG, MOV, MP3, MP4, MPG, PSD, RAR and PDF.
When opening an item, this software program displays a few editing tools specific to the format. For example, you can use playback controls for audio and video files (play, pause, next, previous and a volume bar), you can rotate, crop, resize and tweak colors for image files, and change the font type, style, size and color, add indenting, alignments, bullets and hyperlinks for texts.
It is also possible to undo or redo actions, copy and paste elements, zoom in and out of files, open a hex editor, use a search function and view info pertaining to the opened item, such as path, size, modified and created date, type name and description.
Taking all of this into consideration, it becomes apparent that Free Viewer is a useful piece of software and a good choice for people interested in viewing and editing a large number of file formats, with a user-friendly interface and a feature-rich environment. It does not put a strain on your computer's performance, response time is good and we did not detect any errors, crashes or bugs during our tests.
