FSProxy Description

FSProxy intends to provide you with a tool able to view the files stored on Linux partitions from the Windows operating system. You can use this program to access some of the frequently used file systems on Linux installations.
Although Linux is a popular operating system, very often it is installed on computers that already have an operating system, namely Windows. However, the partitions created for Linux cannot be accessed from Windows, which forces you to reboot the PC in order to access your files.
This program aims to solve this problem by providing you with an alternative. It creates a server on your computer which allows you to browse the files in a web-based interface. After configuring the program you should be able to view the compatible partitions in any Internet browser.
When you start the application, you need to specify the disk drives and the network interface that is used for the connection. The program can scan up to three hard drives in order to find the compatible partitions.
In order to access the partitions you need to enter the IP specified in the Configuration window in your Internet browser. Unfortunately, you cannot change the address to something that you can easily remember.
The tray icon enables you to start the server, enable the read-write mode and access the Configuration window which enables you to add the application to the startup list. This can come in handy when you frequently need to access Linux partitions.
The interface is simple which makes up for the fact that the package does not include any documentation. However, not all users feel comfortable with the browser interface which can be slower than the classic Explorer window.
Since it provides support for Ext2, Ext3 and Ext4, you should try FSProxy for yourself when you need to access these partition types.
