Ftp Scheduler Description
Ftp Scheduler is a small-sized application that enables you to schedule uploading jobs to FTP accounts. It comes packed with an approachable set of options, which can be seamlessly configured by any kind of users, even the ones less experienced with such software.
Requirements and interface
The entire tool's wrapped in a single .exe file that can be saved to a custom directory on the disk or stored on a removable storage unit, in order to effortlessly run it on any PC. No new entries are added to the system registry and no files are created on the disk without your permission. However, you must have an older version of .NET Framework installed, since it was built with the help of this platform.
When it comes to the interface, Ftp Scheduler opts for a standard .NET Framework form and adds just a couple of graphical elements to make it a bit more appealing. It's split into three areas for separately configuring server, file and upload settings.
Set server, file and upload options
It's possible to specify the server name, user name and password, along with the remote and local root. You can add as many files as you want to the task list by resorting to the built-in file browser, establish the upload start time, ask the tool to shut down the computer on task completion, as well as hide it to the system tray.
The uploading job shouldn't take long, depending on the amount and size of files. A confirmation message should pop up on the screen afterward, to let you know whether or not it was successful.
Evaluation and conclusion
The application hasn't been updated for a pretty long time, requires an old edition of .NET Framework, and this is probably why we failed to get it up and running on newer Windows models in our tests. However, it worked smoothly on older versions and carried out tasks swiftly while remaining light on system resources consumption.
Ftp Scheduler may not have a particularly rich set of options and customization settings, but it delivers a straightforward solution for scheduling FTP uploading jobs. Just keep in mind that you're likely to encounter compatibility issues with newer OSes.
