Not all running processes, or applications working in the background can keep the computer awake. What’s more, there’s a risk to interrupt, or abort an entire operation by simply leaving the computer idle, or when the screensaver kicks in. To prevent this from happening, Ginseng can make sure the computer doesn’t fall asleep on the job.
The application comes in a lightweight package, and can easily be carried around on a thumb drive. With no installation required, it’s good to go from the moment download is done. System registry entries don’t need to be modified to ensure functionality, thus keeping the target PC’s health status intact.
It shows up in the tray area, with an easy to identify icon. Two color states are available to tell whether it’s active or not. Interacting with the icon makes it possible to toggle the core function state. Impact on system resources is minimum, so it can run without interfering with any other activity.
Ginseng comes in handy for leaving the computer to handle a task while away, without having to change the power plan, or disable the screensaver until the task is done. Adding its shortcut to the Startup folder makes it run with Windows. For instant launch, a hotkey can also be assigned from the shortcut’s properties panel.
