Grey Olltwit's Divide Tables Description
Grey Olltwit's Divide Tables is an intuitive application developed as a teaching aid, which takes on the form of an entertaining game, in the attempt to help children learn the division tables more easily.
The program is sufficiently simple to understand and use both by children and adults, as it requires very little previous experience in working with computers thanks to the straight-forward interface.
First off, users need to select which activity they want to perform, either start a new game or load a saved one. If they have never played before, they should press on the 'Start a New Game' button and enter their name, under which every finished task will be saved.
Afterward, users can work with tables from 1 to 12 in ascending order. At the same time, they have the option of choosing a specific table they wish to practice more, depending on their needs. When inside the game, users can opt for an 'Ordinary Selection', which means that the division operations will be displayed consecutively. Similarly, they can opt for 'Random Selection Double Points', where the divisions are displayed in an aleatory fashion and they need to work with a countdown timer, making the game a bit more difficult.
For each correct answer, Grey Olltwit's Divide Tables awards users a certain amount of points, keeping track of their score and enabling them to receive a diploma at the end. This can be printed, allowing them to show their achievements to their friends, teachers or parents.
To conclude, Grey Olltwit's Divide Tables is a useful software utility whose main purpose is to assist educators, be they teachers or parents, in helping students learn division operations successfully, turning the entire activity into a fun game for them so they will not feel as though they are making an effort.
