Guitar Chord Finder Description
Guitar Chord Finder helps users find chord voicings based on a set of strict criteria. It’s useful to both beginners and experienced guitar players, no matter the type of music they play.
Single window interface
This program doesn't feature any multiple windows, drop-down menus, or other fancy interface mechanics, but it rather chooses a tick box-based system where the artist can choose the ‘Root,’ ‘Chord,’ number of tones, melody notes, and so on.
However, to make things visually intuitive for the artists, a simple image of guitar chords is shown, replicating with some red dots the position where your fingers should be placed to play each voicing for a specified chord.
Key features
The main function of Guitar Chord Finder is its ability to calculate every possible voicing for each selected chord via a specially designed algorithm. An additional nice option is that it also checks if users can play the chord voicing with their fingers.
To get more accurate notes artists can choose the number of frets and set the tones to be doubled or not. In case these are too many, users can change the tones or the number of melody strings in order to reduce the number of desired voicings.
However, despite its simplicity, this program requires a previous install, so in case you need to carry it at a music band rehearsal, you’ll need to bring your computer/laptop with you as well.
Conclusion
Overall, Guitar Chord Finder uses an excellent algorithm-based voicing search engine. This way, musicians won’t have to find voicings themselves via multiple experiments with the guitar in their hands, but will rather sing the right notes from the get-go using the filters given by the application.
But regardless of its easy-to-handle features, users will have to enjoy these options at home in front of a monitor and not during rehearsals where they could take advantage of other available PCs.
