HandWriter

HandWriter is a tiny and portable software application that allows you to type text, convert it into handwriting format, and print it. It lets you customize the font size and color, among other aspects.

No setup necessary, besides .NET Framework

As long as you have .NET Framework installed on your PC, you don't need to set up anything else. This means that you can save the program files anywhere on the disk and just click the executable to launch HandWriter.
Otherwise, you can keep it stored on a USB flash drive to directly run it on any computer with minimum effort. It doesn't modify Windows registry settings.

Straightforward interface and options

The interface is user-friendly, based on a standard window split into two horizontal frames, dedicated to the source and output text. Sample text is written by default, and you can easily edit it just like using any other word processor.
Multiple tabs are supported, which means that you can easily juggle multiple handwritten text within a single HandWriter session.

Customize two handwriting styles

There are two handwriting styles available: Royal Victoria and Ugly Style, so you can select the preferred one. The new handwritten text can be exported to an image file with the SVG format, as well as sprinted.
You can customize the font size and color, as well as manage the two fonts by editing each character when it comes to the symbol, position, scale, line and letter width, lines and points, along with the background.

Evaluation and conclusion

We haven't come across any difficulties in our tests, thanks to the fact that the app didn't freeze, crash or prompt error dialogs. It left a small footprint on system resources, consuming low CPU and RAM.
To sum it up, HandWriter offers a simple solution to converting regular text to handwritten format in two different styles, and it can be easily handled by anyone. Too bad that it haven't been updated for a while.
