HashCalc Description

HashCalc is a desktop software app that helps its users verify the integrity of their files. It can be used to calculate the hash codes of their files with as little effort as possible.

Neat and easy-to-use interface

The application opts for a simple, clean and straightforward interface. The display consists of a text box for the file path or string you're about to check. Below that line are 10 algorithms. A check box next to each option makes it easy to indicate which algorithm will be used to calculate the hash code.
Even though it might seem difficult to handle at first sight, the intuitive settings make sure that it can be configured by any kind of user, even those less familiarized with this type of software.

Main functionality

Basically, all you have to do is select one of the available hash types (MD5, MD2, SHA-1, SHA-256, CRC32, ed2k Hash), import the file that you wish to calculate the hash code for using the built-in browse button, and then proceed with the task. Furthermore, you are given the possibility to determine the hash code for a user-defined string.
HashCalc can be used to calculate the hash codes for multiple files at once. Just import more files in the main panel and the tool will display them. Once added, details can be analyzed, such as the full path, name, and format. The provided hash codes can be copied to the clipboard with only one click of the mouse.
Unfortunately, the software utility lets you copy only one code at a time, meaning the users have to click on each added files to be able to copy their hash codes. No errors occurred during our testing.

To sum it up

Taking all things into account, HashCalc proves to be a fast and reliable tool that enables its users to easily calculate the hash codes in order to verify the integrity of their files.
