HD YouTube Downloader is an intuitive application that enables you to download clips from YouTube in high definition, as the name says.
It also integrates a video conversion tool to AVI and MP4 format.
The interface consists of a simple window with a clean aspect, having the video downloader and converter separated into two tabs for easy access.
The application supports a Clipboard live monitoring tool, so you can seamlessly add URLs to the list. Batch downloading is possible, enabling you to get multiple clips at the same time.
As far as settings are concerned, you can select the video quality for download, such as MP4 video - HD 720p (if available), FLV HQ - 360p, and MP4 video - high resolution 4K (if available). It is possible to point out the downloading directory, set the video to automatically move onto the next highest quality, and preserve the original format.
When it comes to converting videos, all you have to do is populate the list (drag-and-drop is not supported), select the output format between AVI and MP3, and establish the target folder. Initializing the task is done with the click of a button.
The application carries out a job in reasonable time while using low-to-moderate CPU and RAM, so it shouldn't put a strain on computer performance. Unfortunately, the tool was unsuccessful in its attempt to download several YouTube clips during Softpaz evaluation (on Windows 7), although no errors were reported.
On the contrary, the program signaled successful jobs (the output directory was empty). Thanks to its intuitive layout and overall simplicity, less experienced users can quickly figure out HD YouTube Downloader.
