Hex Editor Description

Hex Editor is a small and portable program that allows you to view and edit the hexadecimal code of files. You can use it to identify unknown extensions and write codecs for specific formats for image editors, for instance.
Since installation is not a prerequisite, you can just drop the executable file anywhere on the hard drive and run the executable file directly.
As an alternative, you can save Hex Editor to a USB flash drive or similar storage unit, and run it on any computer. This way, you can keep the tool in your pocket whenever you're on the move.
What's more important is that the Windows Registry area does not receive entry updates, and files are not left behind on the hard drive after program removal.
The interface of the application is represented by a standard window with an uncomplicated layout, where you can load a file into the workspace by using either the file browser or "drag and drop" method.
You can specify a start position and length to seek, replace 16-bit signed or unsigned integers, as well as select the byte order between PC and network mode.
In addition, you can use a search function to locate hex code based on the data type and order. Furthermore, Hex Editor allows you to save a selection to file. Aside from opening a file for reading only, or for reading and writing, you may also open a process memory.
Hex Editor requires a low-to-moderate amount of CPU and system memory, so it shouldn't affect the overall performance of your computer. It has a good response time and performed well during our tests, without causing any problems to the PC. All in all, Hex Editor provides a very simple solution to editing hexadecimal code.
