Hi-Net Recorder/Player is a lightweight Windows application that helps users play and record video and audio streams.
It sports a clean layout that gives users the possibility to set up the dedicated parameters with minimum effort. Plus, hotkeys are also available for a better control over the entire process.
Hi-Net Recorder/Player works with the following file formats: ASX, WAX, ASF, MPEG, WMV, MP3, WMA, IBH, and URH.
The application gives users the possibility to play or stop the current video or audio selection, adjust the volume, repeat or shuffle the current item, switch to a full screen mode, as well as view details about each file, such as name, type, length, and size.
What’s more, you can start or stop the recording process and enable the URL monitoring option.
When it comes to configuration settings, you are allowed to select a default saving directory where the recorded files are stored, specify the maximum size for the recorded items, as well as make file associations.
The application comes packed with several dedicated tools built specifically for helping users cut video files by specifying a start and end position, and save the recorded video streams as images (while allowing them to specify the FPS).
During our testing we have noticed that the app provides good video and audio quality, and no errors showed up throughout the entire process. It doesn’t put a lot of stress on CPU and memory, so the overall performance of the computer is not hampered.
To sum things up, Hi-Net Recorder/Player offers a handy set of parameters when it comes to playing and recording video and audio streams, but it still needs some improvements in the GUI area to make the process more intuitive.
