Hide Drives

Hide Drives is a small-sized and portable software utility that, as the name suggests, allows you to hide selected drives on your computer. It comes in handy if you share your PC with multiple users, if you want to protect sensitive information by disabling access to a drive altogether.
As installation is not a prerequisite, you can drop the EXE file to a custom directory on the hard disk and just click it to run.
There is also the possibility of saving Hide Drives to a USB flash disk or similar storage unit, in order to run in on any computer effortlessly, as long as it has .NET Framework installed.
What's more, the app does not create new registry entries, nor additional files on your HDD, leaving it clean after removal.
The interface is represented by a regular window with a plain and simple structure, where all you have to do is specify the action between hiding a drive, disabling access to it, or both, pick the user account from a drop-down menu, as well as select one or more drive letters to apply modifications to.
A function for selecting all items is available. In order for the changes to take effect, it is necessary to log off the user account and log in again. Making drives visible again or restoring access to them is done in a similar manner.
Hide Drives runs on a very low quantity of CPU and memory, so it does not affect the machine's overall performance. It has a good response time and works well, without causing the OS to hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. We have not come across any problems throughout our evaluation. Thanks to its intuitive layout and overall simplicity, even novices can quickly figure out Hide Drives.
