Home Budget was designed as a personal finance tracker, being able to keep tabs on your bank accounts and monthly expenses and to provide a more streamlined approach to managing financial transactions.
Although the software market dedicated to finance software is overpopulated with dedicated applications, Home Budget aims to deliver a more comfortable environment based on a simple, but rewarding concept.
Home Budget comes wrapped inside an appealing and user-friendly design that encases only a few buttons corresponding to each financial module. You will be greeted with a general overview of the existing bank accounts; of course, at first launch, there won’t be any, but creating one is a quick and effortless operation.
Support for multiple accounts is provided, for that matter, therefore the software can track your overall cash balance, as well as individually for each of the accounts.
Moreover, the management of financial transactions turns out to be very efficient, as you are provided with a list of all the operations performed up until the current moment. You can also plan a transaction for a later date.
A general overview of your budget is provided within the Categories section where you will also be able to visualize the distribution of the expenses in correlation with the type of payments you’ve made so far.
Your monthly and yearly cashflow can be viewed inside a line graph that emphasizes the evolution of your cash balance, while the bar graph shows an overview of your expenses by categories.
Also embedded inside the application is a currency manager that allows you to convert between various currencies, but for this to happen you have to manually specify the exchange rate.
All in all, Home Budget comes across as a simple and user-oriented finance manager that can be used by both beginner and advanced users. It would be great though if the currency manager could connect to the Internet and fetch the rates by itself instead of requiring you to do that.
