Hot Copy Paste is a handy application is designed to help you manage your clipboard and streamline repetitive copy and paste operations.

Unobtrusive interface

The application is designed to be as unobtrusive as possible. It runs in the system tray and can be maximized at the push of a hotkey.
Once the main window of the application is maximized, users can view and navigate a history of the information held within their system clipboard.
This history consists of various files or snippets of text the user has copied during the current session and can be filtered, sorted and searched. Items of information from the clipboard which present a special interest to the user can be saved and grouped as favorites.
Such items can also be saved or exported from within the application. The entire clipboard can be backed up and restored at a later date, if needed.
In order to add the information from their clipboard to any other application or document, users can simply drag and drop it from the history panel, or use a configurable shortcut. The snippet will be pasted behind the cursor. The advantages of using such a system quickly become apparent when one has to quickly accomplish repetitive tasks which require copying and pasting.

A secure, configurable clipboard

The program's hotkeys can be configured by the user by accessing the dedicated tab from the Options window. Other options include configurable sounds for various keystrokes and events.
The application also features a number of notable security-related functions. Namely, it can be configured to prompt for a password at startup and can automatically delete snippets which contain data resembling passwords.

Conclusions

The application was easy to use and install. Its resource footprint is minimal and it in no way hampered the execution of other programs, while remaining responsive throughout the test. It did not crash or exhibit any unexpected behavior. All of these characteristics recommend it as a handy and reliable software solution to those looking for a better way of managing their clipboards.
