Pitch Tracker:
icSpeech supports multiple ways to display and measure pitch.
The real-time Bar is a useful biofeedback tool that moves upwards with increased pitch. This is particularly useful when working on sustained sounds.
The Waveform display allows you to see pitch contours during the utterance of complete words or phrases.
Voice Detector:
icSpeech employs a robust technique for obtaining voicing information from the acoustic signal.
This is useful when making voiced voiceless distinctions and for measuring parameters such as voice intensity, voice onset time and voice duration.
icSpeech supports multiple ways of displaying voicing parameters.
Spectrum Analyser:
The ability to extract the fundamental frequency and associated harmonics, together with the vocal tract resonances (formants frequencies) makes the icSpeech spectrum analyser a powerful speech analysis tool.
Spectrogram, FFT and LPC displays are supported.
Video Capture:
With a webcam you can view and record lips, teeth, jaw, tongue and facial muscles during speech.
Using special video effects can also make the interaction with icSpeech fun for young children, allowing you to capture that all important speech data.
Voice Recorder:
With icSpeech you can make recordings and perform precise, repeatable measurements on the recorded speech data.
Pictures, words or phrases can be configured to prompt the speaker at set intervals. These prompts also annotate the recorded data making it easier to locate speech segments of interest.
Measuring Velopharyngeal Incompetence:
The simultaneous measurement of both nasal and oral airflow during speech can provide a measure of velopharyngeal incompetence (VPI).
icSpeech is compatible with SNORS+, a anemometer that provides a wealth of aerodynamic and acoustic information.
Measuring Tongue Movement:
Electropalatography (EPG) measures tongue contact with the hard-palate during speech and provides both qualitative and quantitative data on the place of articulation.
icSpeech supports multi-channel EPG and is compatible with the Linguagraph electropalatography system.
