iDiary Description
Writing is not only a way to share your and emotions with anyone interested, or unleash your imagination, but also a great method of managing stress. Hiding your every day activities and feelings from anyone but you to read in a well kept diary has moved to the computer in the form of a simple and easy to use application such as iDiary.
Keep track of all your entries
Once you run it you will feel the need to write down your thoughts, because it's probably been a while since you last did, and given the user friendly interface it is difficult to resist. The application makes use of a single window in which everything you need is at your fingertips. You have a text field in which your thoughts will be entered, and below you will find a space where every entry is kept track of.
You can view any of your entries navigating through the calendar displayed in the bottom of the main window, and even choose to show the newest or oldest ones. It lacks a search field, which would have come in handy for those who write down a lot of things.
In addition, you can save all of your entries in a text or diary file, for later use however, pay attention to where you move your files because if you want to save another batch of entries it will automatically replace the old file, without asking you where to save it or if you want to rename it.
Keep your thoughts partially safe
The application features a password encryption tool, which prompts you when you run it for the first time, so you are sure that nobody will have access to your private text. Although this proves to be effective only whilst running the application, if you save everything in a text file, that protection is lost.
To end with
Taking everything into consideration, we can say that iDiary is a fun way to write down your thoughts in a modern diary. Seeing how it mostly implies text, some editing tools have been useful, and extra protection for saving text files, but even so it will keep you writing at least a few things about yourself.
