Image Size Converter

As its name implies, Image Size Converter is intended to give you a helping hand in reducing the size of a large image collection, thus saving a significant amount of storage space on your hard drive.
But disk space is not the only reason why this application could prove useful. Decreasing the dimension of a set of pictures can be required when creating a web gallery or for file sharing purposes.
Image Size Converter can help you find a balance between the size of an image and its quality. Unfortunately, it only is compatible with a few file formats, namely JPG, BMP and JPEG. Therefore, if you are looking for a tool to re-dimension raw photos or other types of images, this application is of no use to you.
The main interface is simple, consisting of a single window with just a few options to configure. The GUI is split into two separate panes, one for browsing the computer and viewing a list of all the images in a certain directory and the other dedicated to setting the conversion details. The application automatically filters the contents of the selected folder and only displays the type of images you choose.
On the downside, it is not possible for you to select just a limited number of images in a folder to be converted. Once a location on disk is chosen, all the pictures within that directory are processed.
Once you set the conversion formats and adjust the image quality, the only thing that is left to do is browse for the location of the output and wait for the conversion process to be finalized.
While there are things that could be improved (such as extending the range of compatible formats), Image Size Converter enables you to obtain smaller images with decent conversion speed and output quality. Its simplicity is definitely a plus, but there are other applications out there that offer the same features and even more.
