Imagen is a simple-to-use media player that comes packed with some basic functions. It supports plenty of audio, video and image formats, such as AC3, AVI, GIF, MPEG, M4A, TGA and WAV.
The interface of the application is familiar to the one of Windows Media Player, so navigating it shouldn't be a problem if you are familiarized with the well-known app. Loading an item can be done via the file browser or 'drag and drop' method. Unfortunately, you cannot create a playlist or slideshow.
So, you can use basic media player tools, such as pause and stop, adjust the volume, go to the next or previous frame, as well as navigate back and forth within the clip, and switch to full screen mode.
On top of that, you can take screenshots, modify the frame rate, view file information, as well as copy, move, rename or delete items. But you can also fit the window to the image, make file associations, enable loop mode, make the tool stretch small images and shrink the big ones, as well as display the current frame position of frame rate.
The media player has a good response time, contains user documentation and consumes a very low amount of CPU and system memory, so it shouldn't be an issue for the computer resources. It has not caused us any problems during our tests, such as freezing, crashing or displays error dialogs. Although Imagen does not pack powerful features, it can be seamlessly used by inexperienced users, thanks to its intuitive layout and overall simplicity. Unfortunately, no recent updates have been made.
