ImageViewer Description
Transferring photos from your camera or mobile phone sure enough ends with you taking one more look over them. In case you want to do this in an organized environment, then ImageViewer allows you to easily navigate to your collection, convert between different formats, or play a slideshow of all pictures.
Can be used on the go
You can take the application for a spin as soon as download is done, because it requires no installation in order to function. This also means that system registries don’t need to be modified in order for the application to work, thus not affecting the stability of the target PC.
Unfortunately, viewing space is rather limited, with the main window only getting resized up to a specific point. On the other hand, there’s a full screen mode for a comfortable view, as well as the possibility to run a slideshow with options to set slide interval, or manually control transitions.
Easy navigation, and quick conversion
However, before you get to see any pictures, you need to use the side navigation panel to reach your picture collection. There’s a drive selection drop-down menu, with folder and file lists, as well as a filter you can apply to view only pictures found under specific formats. You can also save pictures as bookmarks for quick access later on.
Among others, the application allows you to convert pictures to other supported formats. Several dedicated options let you change corresponding quality settings, and you can save pictures as BMP, GIF, JPG, PBM, PGM, PNG, PPM, TGA, and TIF. This needs to be done one picture at a time, because batch processing isn’t implemented.
Before saving to a new format, you can change color depth in order to turn into black and white, grayscale, 4 bit, and 8 bit color depths. Flip and rotation can also be performed. In case you’re loading any GIFs, there’s a dedicated trigger button to animate, or stop them.
To end with
All things considered, we come to the conclusion that ImageViewer comes in handy not just for enjoying your picture collection in a full screen mode, or slideshow, but also gives you the possibility to convert to other image file formats. It feels a little rough around the edges, but is worth your while overall.
