Img2Wav Description
With the evolution in technology, sound can now be produced by simply using different computer applications. In this regard, you’d be surprised to know that audio files can also be the result of processing a picture, which is exactly the task accomplished using Img2Wav.
Can be used on the go
A neat advantage is that the application doesn’t even need to be installed in order to function, thanks to a proper development process. This also means you can use it on the go directly from a USB flash drive, while the computer you’re using it on stays clean, because no registries need to be modified.
Upon launch, a compact main window shows up, with a classic window frame that houses all features. Accommodation is a walk in the park thanks to this simplicity, and even beginners quickly get the hang of things. There’s an input field with an attached open button through which to load the picture, two methods, as well as the trigger button to put the process in motion.
Leaves more to be desired
Img2Wav only lets you work with JPG files, and note that loading any other type might result in a freeze or crash. What’s more, you need to rely on the open dialog to load a file, because drag and drop is not supported. Chances are the application stops working if you try to pick an image file from a different folder than the root, so you might want to move the picture there.
As mentioned above, there are two methods you can use to generate sound out of the pictures you load. However, there’s no description or any other option to at least hint differences, so you have to go through both to find out.
Hitting the Process File button does exactly just that. Unfortunately, some issues in the design require you to select an existing WAV file to overwrite, because a new one can’t be created for whatever reason. It takes a little while to get the job done, but there’s no preview, neither of the picture, nor the generated audio file.
To sum it up
All things considered, we come to the conclusion that Img2Wav doesn’t really bring anything new on the market, and neither can it live up to expectations. Sure enough, you can go through with the process successfully, but this requires a lot of patience, with every step of the way having a chance to make the program crash.
