Imp's Player Description
Imp's Player is a lightweight gadget that displays a small media player on your screen, allowing you to immediately play audio and video files. It can be seamlessly installed and configured, even by rookies.
The interface of the application is based on a small frame which resembles the layout of Windows Media Player, so navigating through its features should not be a problem if you are already familiarized with the well-known tool chosen by millions of users.
So, you can use a few standard media player functions, such as pause, play the next or previous track, adjust the volume, navigate back and forth within the clip by using a slider, as well as view the current and total playing time.
In addition, you can bring up a window where you can view all the current songs displayed in the source directory, use a search function, as well as sort items according to several criteria (e.g. all video, all music).
Imp's Player may also be scheduled to automatically run at system startup, and allows you to enable shuffle or repeat mode. Thanks to the default settings provided by the operating system, it is also possible to make Imp's Player stay on top of other windows, move its frame to any position on the screen with the help of the mouse cursor, as well as adjust its opacity level between 20% and 100%.
The small tool does not put a strain on the computer's resources, as it requires a low quantity of CPU and system memory. It is very responsive to commands and automatically starts playing items upon initialization. We have not encountered any difficulties in our evaluation; Imp's Player did not freeze, crash or pop up error dialogs.
To sum it up, Imp's Player supplies a straightforward method for playing media files. Unfortunately, you cannot specify the source directory of the items; the gadget automatically reads the contents stored in 'My Documents'. No recent updates have been made to Imp's Player.
