Incidental Exercise Enabler Description
This utility enables sedentary computer users to exercise while browsing the internet or reading a pdf document. This is achieved via a webcam and a machine vision algorithm that interprets specially tailored exercise motions to control page-navigation and mouse movement.By translating exercise motions into computer control signals, a sedentary worker, while standing or sitting, can exercise while performing his daily tasks. The exercise motions, which resemble swimming motions, are counted and a calorie counter is displayed with estimates of calorie totals. Sessions totals broken-down by exercise count and calorie subtotal are saved to a log-file that can be displayed at any time. The default configuration allows controlling the following applications: Chrome web browser Firefox web browser Adobe Acrobat readerAdditional programs, such as your favorite email application, can be added through the configuration file config.xmlTry it out and help set the trend for the evolution of the sedentary job and the office workspace.
