Index.dat Analyzer Description
Index.dat Analyzer is a small application that lets you analyze the files of Index.dat items, as the name implies. It can be seamlessly figured out, even by users with little or no experience in software programs.
The tool is packed in a user-friendly interface with a common window and well-defined layout. Upon deployment, you can make Index.dat Analyzer automatically scan the computer for all Index.dat items, and you can select which ones you want to explore, by adding them to a Location bar.
From this point on, you can select a DAT file item from a drop-down menu and view all files included in it, along with the link, type, date of creation and last access. It is possible to extract the selected files to the output directory of your choice, via the context menu.
In addition, you can open the link or file (if it exists), view a file's content in Notepad, as well as copy the file properties to the Clipboard. Furthermore, you can make the columns resize automatically, filter the files by name or type, delete all listed files from the Location bar (if Internet Explorer is closed), as well as hide entry information or refresh the list.
Index.dat Analyzer runs on a very low amount of CPU and system memory, has a good response time and completes a scanning job rapidly. We have not come across any issues throughout our evaluation, since the app did not hang, crash or pop up error notifications. Unfortunately, no recent updates have been made to the tool. Other than that, Index.dat Analyzer can be effortlessly figured out, regardless of the user's skill level.
