iTwin is a useful utility designed to provide you with access to the iPhone databases saved on your computer. The program allows you to easily load all the backup contents in order to review certain messages of calendar appointments.
iTunes allows you to backup your phone and restore the data when you want to retrieve certain contacts. However, you cannot view any of the stored details from the application’s interface without restoring it on your device.
This tool enables you to load the contacts, messages and notes from the detected backups in order to search for a certain detail. The program can handle contacts, appointments, reminders, notes, messages, photos and call logs in the same interface.
In order to import the database you need to specify the device from the list of backups detected in the iTunes folders. If you have backed up multiple devices, the application displays the phone name, backup date and iPhone version to help you select the desired file.
You can also load the phone data by using a wireless connection if the device is jailbroken. All you need to do is specify the IP address and the password required for the connection.
Besides being able to view the messages in the app interface, you have the possibility to export them to a text, HTML or PDF file. The same applies to the contacts and calendar items which can be exported to specific formats such as vCard, CSV or iCalendar.
An useful feature is the ability to view the birthdays for all your contacts by using a dedicated tab. Thus, you can easily view today’s events and call your friends in order to congratulate them.
Additionally, you can browse the photos and movies stored in the backup file. While it uses an internal viewer for images, you can specify which movie player should be used for opening the video files.
