Java Applets on Physics Description

Java Applets on Physics is a lightweight Windows application designed specifically for helping you study various concepts in physics. The package includes a collection of Java applets that are related to various theories, such as mechanics, oscillation and waves, electrodynamics, optics, thermodynamics, theory of relativity, physics of atoms, as well as nuclear physics.

Working with the Java applets

This is a Java-based utility, which means you need to previously deploy the working environment on your computer otherwise you are not able to open the applets. Each applet can be run individually and demonstrates, focuses and presents a certain idea. You may also check out the HTML files included in the package as they offer information about each applet and its capabilities.

Various concepts to play with

Java Applets on Physics gives you the possibility to work with 51 applets that demonstrate different theories in physics.
The mechanics field covers areas that deal with motion with constant acceleration (you can see a car moving with constant acceleration), equilibrium of three forces (a simulation that shows how weights are suspended from three tied cords), resultant of forces (addition of vectors), pulley system, inclined plane, uniform circular motion, Newton’s cradle, and hydrostatic pressure in liquids.
When it comes to oscillations and waves, you can study different modules, such as simple or spring pendulum, beats, standing wave, Doppler effect, and interference of two circular or spherical waves.
The electrodynamics applets help you learn about the magnet field of a bar magnet, generator, Ohm’s law, simple AC circuits, electromagnetic waves, and potentiometer.
The optics field gives you insights about the refraction of light, diffraction of light by single slit, refracting astronomical telescope, and image formation by converging lenses, thermodynamic data allows you to study the special processes of an ideal gas, theory of relation provides information about the time dilation, physics of atoms demonstrates the photoelectric effect and Bohr’s theory of the hydrogen atom, while nuclear physics helps you view info about radioactive decay series and law of radioactive decay.

Bottom line

All in all, Java Applets on Physics offers an interactive and straightforward learning solution for students and teachers who are interested in the physics field of study.
