jEdit Description

jEdit is a cross-platform, programmers text editor written in Java. Some of jEdits features include it runs on MacOS X, OS/2, Unix, VMS, and Windows. It has built-in macro language and extensible plug-in architecture. Dozens of macros and plug-ins available, plug-ins can be downloaded and installed from within jEdit using the plug-in manager feature. It is auto indent and syntax highlighting for more than 80 languages. It supports a large number of character encoding including UTF8 and Unicode, folding for selectively hiding regions of text, and word wrap.

Version 5.0 has fixed whole word search, keymap duplication handling, and broken macro Files/Glob_close.bsh.
