JLineCounter Description
JLineCounter is a small software application developed specifically for helping you count lines in a plain text file. The text files can be source documents that contain C, Java, C#, or other programming languages.
The tool is created using Java so in order to be able to gain access to its features you need to deploy the working environment on the target computer.
No installation is needed
The utility is portable which means you can run it without having to go through the preset steps included in an installation process. You may drop it on pen drives or other portable devices to have it with you all the time, and open it straight from the storage device.
Gaining access to its GUI can be done by double-clicking on the executable file. You may uninstall with a simple deletion task because it does not populate your Windows registry with extra entries and leave configuration files.
Clean and simple design
JLineCounter reveals an intuitive layout that allows you to set up the dedicated parameters in short amount of time. Although you cannot read more about the program’s configuration settings in a help manual, you can manage to decode the options on your own.
Count lines in plain text files
The program gives you the freedom to import plain text documents using the built-in browse button (the drag-and-drop support is not implemented). JLineCounter is able to count the lines in the imported document and reveals the information directly in the main window.
What’s more, you are allowed to make use of batch actions for processing multiple plain text files at the same time. The filenames need to be separated by comma or written line by line. Tests have shown that the application carries out a task quickly and without errors. It is quite friendly with system resources so the overall performance of the computer is not affected.
Bottom line
To sum things up, JLineCounter comes packed with several basic features helping you find out the exact number of lines comprised in a text file, and is suitable especially for less experienced users.
