Kana StartDelay Description
Important services and processes are set to run right before you reach the desktop so that everything is ready by then. Some particular applications can also be made to run with Windows, but having too many start at once can lead to a drop in performance. Luckily, you can completely rely on Kana StartDelay to set a custom order for the way they start.
Lightweight and easy to use
Note that the application saves you the whole effort of pressing a few “next†buttons to make it work, and is good to go from the moment download is done. Registry entries are not necessarily altered, depending on the application you target, so you can run it on other PCs without the worry that stability is affected.
All it has to offer can be found in a compact, intuitive interface which makes accommodation a walk in the park for experienced individuals and beginners alike. The overall process of configuring a startup delay takes little time from start to end, but it would have been useful to see a context menu integration for faster approach.
Set one-time delay and add new apps to startup
Unfortunately, the application only functions with programs which aren’t already running with Windows, in the sense that you need to choose new items every time. There’s no list to show existing items, but there’s a great deal of liberty when selecting input type, with no limitations to file format, which means you can also have URLs show up in the default browser.
The delay is configured in seconds, and you select the value from a drop-down menu with a maximum value of 300 seconds, which means a maximum delay of 5 minutes. In case the selected program is not already configured to run on startup, there’s a dedicated option to solve this problem.
To sum it up
Bottom line is that Kana StartDelay is a powerful application which can help prevent clogging up system startup with too many configured items. It works best after a fresh install of Windows since it can’t detect existing items, but it’s sure to be worth your while overall.
