Kill Process Description
Kill Process is a lightweight and portable application you can use to terminate currently running processes if they're no longer responding to commands. It doesn't come equipped with complicated options or customization properties, making it accessible to all types of users.
View and terminate processes
Wrapped in a user-friendly interface made from a single window that gives you an overview of all options available, Kill Process automatically verifies and displays the currently active processes at startup.
It reveals the process ID and name, along with the window name of each item in the list, giving you the possibility to select an entry and terminate the corresponding process with the click of a button.
Apart from the fact that you can refresh displayed information if any changes were made in the meantime, there are no other notable settings provided by this app. It doesn't show a confirmation dialog to let you know if the task was successful (only if it fails), and the data is auto-refreshed after ending a process.
Portability advantages
The entire program's packed in a single .exe file that can be saved anywhere on the disk or copied to a removable storage unit, in order to seamlessly run it on any computer with as little effort as possible.
It doesn't need DLLs or other components, create files on the disk without your permission, or add new entries to your system registry. In order to uninstall it, you simply have to delete the executable. Just keep in mind that administrative rights must be applied in order to avoid errors.
Evaluation and conclusion
Although the application hasn't been updated for a long time, we haven't experienced any compatibility issues with later OS versions in our tests.
It worked smoothly, without hanging, crashing or showing error messages. Thanks to its intuitive interface and options, Kill Process can be easily handled by anyone.
