You can also right click and scan directly to a folder, your Windows desktop or even scan and release to SharePoint. Kofax Desktop allows you to save your scanned image as a PDF, compressed PDF or TIFF. The OCR functionality generates a searchable PDF and allows you to drop scanned images into your Microsoft Office application and edit text. Such flexibility in working with your documents allows for a balance between image quality and file size. Whats new in this version:

Version 2.0.142 introduces the functionality to enable OCR, giving users the ability to edit the text in images in Microsoft Office 2007 programs and create searchable PDFs. Additional new features include saving your scanned images as compressed PDF files (which balance image quality with file size) and product localization in 9 languages: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Chinese (Simplified) and Japanese.
