KP Killer Description

Some applications or processes can start by themselves, which might interrupt your workflow. Having to manually close them every once in a while easily becomes frustrating, but there are dedicated applications like KP Killer which can help create entire lists of processes to check and kill at regular intervals.

Create a list of programs or processes to target

It doesn’t take a lot of time to get the application up and running on your computer. However, it’s best to run it with administrator privileges so it can perfectly read the target process, and be able to end its activity. A slim window shows up on launch, but you need to access the list manager to set up target apps first.
Unfortunately, KP Killer isn’t capable of reading the list of running processes on your computer, so you need to manually add them by name, or path. Drag and drop is not supported and you need to write down or paste the path or name in the dedicated field. It’s possible to fill up the list with more entries.

Good, but far from being a pro

The application keeps an eye out for all target programs. The check interval can be specified in milliseconds from the settings panel. Sadly, there’s no possibility to create different groups to have separate lists for different types of activities. What’s more, all programs in the list are targeted, with no option to exclude, unless removing items from the list.
There’s no built-in option to make it run with Windows, but this can be bypassed by manually adding a shortcut in the system Startup folder. An alternative is to assign a hotkey command to the shortcut from the properties panel to quickly launch it, without forcing it to run with Windows.

To end with

Taking everything into consideration, we can state that KP Killer is sure to take care of a group of programs and processes which interrupt you from work, or simply refuse to stay closed. It can feel a little rough around the edges overall, with no automatic detection for running processes, or possibility to create multiple groups.
