LaimCalc Description

Math operations are performed on a daily basis, be it to calculate time, or plan your budget. A calculator is a pretty common tool, and even Windows comes with its own tool in this regard. In case you’re mostly looking for style, LaimCalc comes with a cool design, but also the accuracy needed in operations.

Advantages of a portable app

First of all, you need to install Java Runtime Environment if it’s not already there, otherwise the application can’t run. On the other hand, LaimCalc isn’t bundled inside a setup package, so you can easily carry it around on a thumb drive as your personal calculator. Runtime doesn’t put a strain on stability, mostly because registry entries remain intact.
All it has to offer is found in a pretty clean, but cool interface. Large buttons make it pretty handy for touch-enabled screens. Unfortunately, input isn’t possible through the keyboard, so you need to rely on your mouse if no touch-enabled screen is involved.

Only fitted with basic operators

The list of operators, however, don’t classify the application as a scientific calculator. You’re only able to perform simple calculus, such as adding, subtracting, dividing, multiplying, extracting square roots, and calculating percentage. Result is shown in real-time inside the dedicated display.
Sadly, you need to manually write down the result if required, because the display can’t be selected, so it’s impossible to send the result to clipboard. There isn’t even a tape to save a history of operations, so all calculus is temporary. In case you want to quickly launch it from any computer location, you can assign a hotkey command to its shortcut.

A few last words

Bottom line is that there isn’t a computer out there without a calculator, and you even find one on your phone. LaimCalc merely comes with the means to be a cool desktop calculator, only allowing the calculus of basic operations.
