Developed in Java, LightStopWatch is a lightweight application that facilitates a user-friendly interface for runners interested in using a stopwatch. It comes packed with approachable settings that can be configured with ease by all types of PC users, even the ones with little experience in such tools.

No setup required, besides Java

As long as you have Java installed on your PC, you don't need to set up anything else. This means that you can copy the downloaded files to a preferred directory on the disk or to a removable storage unit, in order to directly run it on any PC with Java. It doesn't modify system registry settings or create files on the disk without your permission.

Simple interface and options

When it comes to the interface, LightStopWatch adopts a large window with a simple design and neatly structured layout. It doesn't put emphasis on graphical elements, yet its options are easy to spot, thanks to the fact that there are no multiple windows involved.

How it works

The stopwatch can be started with the click of a button and just as easily stopped. Worth noting is that the program is designed to record multiple entries with laps. This means that any new lap is added to the list, so it doesn't replace the old one.
Once the timer is stopped, you can check out the lap number, duration and total duration. Apart from the fact that you can clear the list to restart the stopwatch, there are no other noteworthy options available.

Evaluation and conclusion

The software utility worked smoothly in our tests, without causing the operating system to hang, crash or prompt errors. It had minimal impact on the computer's performance, running on a low amount of CPU and RAM.
Although it doesn't have richer features, LightStopWatch delivers a simple and straightforward solution for using a stopwatch for running sessions. It can be seamlessly tackled by any kind of users.
