Link Manager Description
Managing web links has become a task almost exclusively for web browsers through built-in bookmark managers but in some cases this utility does not provide the full functionality users require.
As its name suggests, Link Manager is full-blown utility not only for storing web links but also for finding the ones you want quick and with little effort as well as grab them from a specific web address.
Easy to handle interface
Looks may not be impressive but they are bent on functionality and ease of use. The holds the main menus within easy reach, in the right part of the screen.
There are no configuration settings to tinker with, which makes it quite suitable for less experienced users who would rather have things simple and deal only with what the main application provides.
Flexible set of options
The managing component enables you to organize the entries into categories, insert them into the Favorites section of Internet Explorer and to assign multiple applications to chose from in order to launch them.
Searching for a particular entry does not integrate any parameters and relies solely on the string you provide. This should be enough to restrict the list of results only to relevant ones.
An interesting feature is the link extracting component. Its purpose is to list all the URLs it encounters on a given page. The options available include the possibility to get the links from a file according to some parameters.
There is also a synchronization option for having the same information across multiple Link Managers.
Additional Tools
Extra functionality is present in the application through some tools that allow shortening the link using a hefty list of services, converting the web page it points to to PDF or running it through a translation service such as the one from Google. Another tool enables you to launch multiple web links at once.
Conclusion
Link Manager does exactly what it is supposed to and it did not fail on us during our tests. It is straightforward and easy to use but few users might find it appealing and stick to the bookmark manager in their web browser instead, mainly because they do not need all this functionality.
