Live DFX2BMP Description
Most specialized applications with solid purposes export files under their own format. This is also the case for CAD applications, which work with images under the DXF format. In case the editor you’re working with can’t export pictures, then you can use Live DFX2BMP to set drawing colors, and export under a popular picture format.
You only get to work with DXF files
The visual design of the application doesn’t make it stand out from the crowd, but it’s simplicity allows individuals of all levels of experience to quickly get the hang of things. What’s more, you don’t need to have any CAD applications installed, because only the DXF file is required for the process to function.
Sadly, dropping files over the main window has no effect, so you need to rely on the browse dialog. Note that you can only process a file at a time, which is rather disappointing considering there are no editing options involved. It would have also come in handy to see a context menu integration for instant conversion with default values.
Change drawing colors and save as BMP
Most of the space is the preview area. The main window can’t be resized, and there are no zoom options to help you fit the drawing inside the window borders. On the other hand, you can use the mouse to pan the drawing.
Although there are no direct editing options to manipulate the actual drawing, the application does come with a small set of options. For instance, colors can be changed for both the background and line color. Additionally, the line width is configured by writing down the desired value, while exporting is only possible under the BMP format.
To sum it up
Taking everything into consideration, we can say that Live DFX2BMP is a straightforward application you can use to generate a picture out of DXF drawings without having to rely on complex editors. Colors used in the drawing can be changed, but you can only save to a single type of file.
