Locate32 is a compact and portable application that quickly searches for files in your system. It can be handled by all types of users, regardless of their skill level.
Since installation is not a requirement, you can drop the program files anywhere on the hard disk and run the executable directly.
It is also possible to save Locate32 to a USB flash disk or similar storage unit, so you can run it on any workstation seamlessly.
What's more, the Windows registry does not get new entries, and files are not kept on the disk after removing the utility.
The interface is based on a standard window with an intuitive layout, where the first step you have to take is index files by updating the database from the File menu.
You can filter searches by writing extensions, excluding subdirectories, as well as by specifying the minimum and maximum file size, along with a time range and file attributes.
Furthermore, you can ask Locate32 to look into files and folders, files only or folders only, match the whole file name and cases, as well as establish the file type and containing text. Results can be saved to a TXT or HTML file.
Locate32 lets you perform a search function with the use of databases, delete private data, minimize the app to the system tray, schedule updates, configure keyboard shortcuts, and others. Configuration settings can be saved to file as well.
