LogLady Description
LogLady is a lightweight piece of software you can use to open log files and analyze contents. It doesn't require installation, features filters and offers support for LOG, TXT and XML-formatted files.
Needs .NET Framework to properly work
The downloaded executable file can be dropped in a preferred directory on the disk or to an external storage unit and just double-clicked to launch the application. It doesn't insert new entries into the system registry, but it auto-creates a cache file so you shouldn't deploy it from a write-protected device.
However, this task is successful only if you have .NET Framework installed. Fortunately, newer Windows editions come bundled with this software framework.
Modest and clean interface for log analysis
The interface of LogLady doesn't excel in the graphical department, as the tool prefers to focus on functionality instead. The window is wide and comprises all settings, making them visible.
After locating a folder, the utility can be instructed to display a list of all containing files or just those with LOG, TXT and XML format. Only the content of selected entries shall be processed and revealed for your inspection.
Filter log files and generate CSV reports
The software program shows the line of text of each file, in addition to the total rows. The columns can be filtered by writing a phrase to match all or just the file name, line or text.
There's also an auto-filtering feature, but the developer advises against using it on large volumes of information because it can significantly slow down the operation. The final form of results can be saved as a report in CSV format.
Straightforward log viewer and analyzer
Considering its practical and intuitive settings, users shouldn't experience any issues with LogLady, even if they haven't tackled such software before. It was speedy in our tests and consumed minimum system resources.
