Face recognition is a common feature that can be performed even by regular webcams. Based on this technology, Luxand FaceSDK offers developers the possibility to integrate recognition and identification capabilities in different applications.
The package contains libraries that can be included in projects developed with Microsoft Visual C++, C#, VB.NET, Delphi, and Java. Multi-threading support enables proper use of multiple cores from different types of CPUs.
Luxand FaceSDK is intended for the development of applications that enhance or enable biometric authentication, either from still images or video streams, webcam-based login systems, or multimedia manipulation products that rely on motion detection. Both online and offline programs can benefit from the component library inside the package.
In addition, a handful of samples build around the supported programming languages can be found and used for testing purposes to analyze the capabilities of the component library. This aids in the decision whether implementation requires video input, or just face detection and recognition features, depending on the intended result.
Multiple settings can be constructed around recognition features in order to tweak detection area, scale, shift, or even performance balancing.
