Magical Jelly Bean SHN Shortener Description
Magical Jelly Bean SHN Shortener is a simple-to-use software application that gives you the possibility to convert large SHN and FLAC files into smaller ones with the MP3 or OGG Vorbis format. It's backed by several handy settings.
Simple setup and interface
After a fast setup procedure that shouldn't give you any trouble, you are greeted by a classical-looking window with a clear-cut structure, where you can get started by locating the files you want to convert.
This can be done by simply pointing out to a directory, as Magical Jelly Bean SHN Shortener automatically identifies the containing SHN files. By default, it takes into account all items, but you can exclude any of them from the conversion operation.
Configure output settings
In the following stage, you can select the preferred output format between MP3 and OGG Vorbis, as well as apply default settings or change them when it comes to the LAME presets, bit rate, channel mode, and quality.
Before carrying on with the conversion operation, you can edit tags for each file or all of them at the same time in regard to the artist, song title, album, year, genre and comment. Tag editing is not mandatory, though, so you can skip this step.
Lastly, the software utility gives you the possibility to rename files using ID3 tags, provided that you have specified them in the previous step, and you can define the file renaming pattern. The original files can be converted on task completion automatically.
Evaluation and conclusion
No error dialogs popped up in our testing, and the tool didn't hang or crash. It had a good response time and carried out conversion jobs swiftly while remaining light on system resources consumption.
All in all, Magical Jelly Bean SHN Shortener delivers a fast and effective method for converting SHN and FLAC files into MP3 or OGG Vorbis format, and it can be easily handled by anyone.
