MAX Image Converter Description
MAX Image Converter is a lightweight Windows application designed specifically for helping you convert image files to different file formats, such as MAX, PSD, GIF, CMP, PNG, TGA, TIF, BMP, WMF, PCX or other file format.
The advantages of being portable
Since this is a portable program, it is important to mention that it doesn’t leave any traces in the Windows Registry.
You can copy it on any USB flash drive or other devices, and take it with you whenever you need to convert photos on the breeze, without having to go through installation steps.
User interface
The layout is quite plain and bundles several configuration settings that you can work with.
Thanks to its Explorer-based interface that offers quick access to the files and folders stored in your computer, you can easily pick the ones that you want to process. You cannot add photos to the list using the drag-and-drop support and browse button, so you can rely solely on the Explorer layout.
Batch processing mode and built-in image viewer
MAX Image Converter offers support for batch processing, which means you can select multiple files and convert them at the same time. Additionally, the tool displays information about the name, size and date for each item.
The built-in image viewer comes packed with basic dedicated parameters for helping you zoom in or out of the pictures and print them.
Configuration settings
The program gives you the possibility to use the source directory, ask for permission or define a saving directory when saving files, as well as play a preset sound notification and show a popup message at the end of the task.
When it comes to photo configuration settings, MAX Image Converter allows you to pick the bits per pixel for the desired output format.
Performance
MAX Image Converter carries out the conversion process very quickly and provides good output results. It doesn’t eat up a lot of CPU and memory, so the overall performance of the computer is not hampered.
Bottom line
All in all, MAX Image Converter features basic conversion options for helping you encode images to different formats. However, it needs several improvements in the GUI area, updates and an overall different approach for making the process easier to follow.
