McAfee Consumer Product Removal Tool Description
We all know how hard it is to find an antivirus solution that perfectly fits our needs, but we also know how difficult it is to get rid of it once we decided to remove the whole software application.
Well, deleting a McAfee security solution isn’t such a terrible job after all, although it’s obvious that uninstalling it manually would surely ruin your day no matter what.
McAfee Consumer Product Removal Tool does exactly what its name says: it removes security solutions developed by McAfee and installed on a certain computer.
Why opt for portable utilities
The app comes in a very light package that doesn’t even need to be installed, which makes the whole removal thing a lot easier. It is important to mention that it doesn't leave any traces in the Windows registry.
Plus, you may copy it on any USB flash drive or other devices and take it with you whenever you need to remove McAfee software products on the fly.
Where it falls short
The problem is that once you double-clicked it and pressed the Next button, you can’t stop the process at all. We were a bit surprised during our test because the removal started all of a sudden, although we were expecting for the application to ask which tool we wanted to get rid of.
The interface is nothing special, it’s just a window with a few "Next" buttons to be clicked by the user. Probably the biggest problem is that it doesn’t come with a cancel button that could be pressed once the removal process begins.
Bottom line
Overall, McAfee Consumer Product Removal Tool is great for those who had problems with McAfee’s software app and want to uninstall it in a simple way. Still, if you have multiple utilities wearing McAfee’s badge and you want to keep some of them, you should try removing them manually.
