Metro Home is a stylish and simple screen widget bundled with the most used components to keep us up-to-date with the outside weather, and time. The app needs .NET Framework to present on the PC, to start without errors, and comes with all the essential items, packed in a small folder. It can be put on a USB flash drive and run on any computer.

Approachable and user-friendly interface

The offered layout is self-explanatory and intuitive, structured in multiple small sections, while the context menu, can be brought up, by right-clicking on it.
Metro Home can be moved to any location on the monitor, and pinned in place and on top of other apps, to have it in plain sight and to gain quick access to its features. From the menu, you are able to make it more transparent and smaller, to blend and fit nicely with your other tools.

Check the weather, time, and date

From the settings, the utility lets you change the tile tone from an extensive color palette, disable the taskbar icon, pick the desired weather provider, from MSN, Foreca or WeatherChannel, along with the refresh interval, expressed in minutes. In addition, you can also select the temperature unit between Celsius and Fahrenheit, the time format (12, 24 hours), and hide the slideshow from the panel.
Based on the picked provider, it's possible to look up for a specific city, by inputting its name in the search bar. Unfortunately, for some, the find option may not return any result, which narrows the ability to customize the widget. Other worth mentioning functions that can be turned off are auto launch at Windows startup, the Aero Glass mode, and the update checker.
