Microsoft Image Resizer Description
Redimensioning photos or just ay type of digital image can be easily done, provided that the appropriate tool is installed onto the computer on which the task must be carried out. Since there are so many applications out there that were designed solely for this purpose, choosing the best one can be quite time consuming.
Nonetheless, if you are still using Windows XP onto your machine, you can enjoy a solution created over at Redmond and called Microsoft Image Resizer. The software targets only this platform and is adapted to best suit the needs of its users.
It installs seamlessly and integrates in the operating system in such a manner that you can have it always at your disposal. To be more precise, every time you will right-click on a picture, in the context menu you will see an option that allows you to change the original dimensions of the photo.
As soon as the 'Resize Pictures' entry is selected from the Explorer right-click menu, the main window of Microsoft Image Resizer will appear. The interface is quite simple and unadorned, but it is clearly bent on functionality because you will be able to save the new pic in a couple of seconds.
All you have to do is decide which dimension you want the new image to have and there are several ready-made choices at your disposal. Thus, you can opt for the small, medium, large or handheld PC settings, which range from 240 by 320 pixels up to 1024 by 768 pixels.
In case none of the above are to your liking, you can go for the advanced options and input manually the new size. More so, Microsoft Image Resizer offers some extra functions in this area, so you can choose to make pictures only smaller or apply the modifications directly onto the original image.
All in all, this application is indeed a must have for Windows XP users who want to speedily modify photos, without having to install and configure complex utilities.
