midiX

midiX is an effective and reliable MIDI player that provides you with a simple means of playing standard MIDI format files, karaoke and RIFF or RMI audio files.
The main window of the application is very intuitive and easy to work with. In case a MIDI mixer is available, you can set the volume, the bass and the treble, as well as configure the balance the way you want. Also, the left pane allows you to loop, auto-play the next song and view the lyrics (if they exist in the currently played audio file). Playback control buttons such as ‘Play’, ‘Pause’, ‘Stop’, ‘Rewind’ and ‘Fast Forward’ are at your disposal.
The Playlist section displays all of the available MIDI files along with their title and duration information. This way, you can listen to the previous or next song with ease or press the ‘Random select’ button in the left pane and let midiX play your favorite files.
In case you want to delete the entire playlist, open a folder that contains MIDI songs or mark the selected file, you can use the right-click menu. Additionally, you are able to search for a specific song in the list.
Furthermore, the application enables you to select the playback output port, the MIDI mixer you are interested in and the action that will be performed when midiX finds associated files.
By navigating to the ‘Karaoke setup 1’ and ‘Karaoke setup 2’ tabs, you are able to personalize your playlists effortlessly. You can either color the entire passed text or simply highlight the current played word and force text limitation only for incorrectly formatted karaoke files.
For those who want to personalize the appearance of the application, the ‘Skins’ and ‘Fonts’ tabs come in handy since the program allows them to edit the skin settings, modify the font style and size.
