Minecraft Topographical Survey Description

Minecraft Topographical Survey is a lightweight software application designed specifically for helping you render Minecraft maps.
It is able to process very large maps, loads both single-player and multi-player worlds, and comes with support for a command-line GUI as well.

Working with portable tools

The portable running mode ensures no entries are left in your Windows registry and other configuration files in your system.
You may store it on USB flash drives or other portable devices, carry it with you, and run it on the target system without administrative privileges.
You don’t need to appeal to third-party uninstallers in order to get rid of the utility, as a simple deletion task is enough for completing the job.

Map rendering modes

Minecraft Topographical Survey comes with support for two main mapping modes: oblique maps (tilted, pseudo-3D view that shows lighting effects) and terrain (top-down view useful for navigation).
Furthermore, you can make use of several modes for adding layers on top of a terrain map in order to reveal more details. You are allowed to render heightmaps to show the relative height of the map surface, cape maps to display the location of caves, or spectrograph to reveal the relative density of a block type.
If you opt for oblique maps, you are given the freedom to adjust the sunlight brightness using the built-in slider. In case you want to render spectrographs, the tool lets you pick the block type (e.g. air, stone, grass, dirt, wood, ice, snow, cactus, reed, fence). The generated image can also be saved to your computer.
You can also control the application from the command-line console in case you are familiar with inputting command-line parameters.

Bottom line

All in all, Minecraft Topographical Survey doesn’t overwhelm you with tons of configurations settings. It provides a fast and efficient way for rendering Minecraft maps, and is suitable for rookies and professionals alike.
