MiniBrowser Description
Going online to look for specific information, chat with your friends, or watching some funny clips requires a web browser. You probably picked a favorite by now, but this doesn’t mean others that are less known aren’t up to the task. For instance, MiniBrowser can effortlessly take you online, even from a USB flash drive.
Can be used on the go
Before you go grab the application to check out its set of features, you might want to make sure that your computer is fitted with .NET Framework, because it can’t run otherwise. On the other hand, you can easily carry it around with you on a USB flash drive, while the target PC’s health status remains intact, because registries are not a dependency.
The application is structured like most browsers out there, with most of the space used to show you content of the pages you land on, while the upper toolbar is the place you use to write the address you want to reach. There’s also a built-in search engine that can quickly provide Google results, but with no options to select a different engine.
Leaves more to be desired
MiniBrowser’s speed is decent, but not exactly what you’d expect from a browser that isn’t overwhelmed by an abundance of features. In any case, the application is capable of loading most types of content, but there might be some issues when it comes to streaming multimedia items.
History is kept track of, just so you can revisit pages you like, but don’t exactly remember how to get there. Unfortunately, there’s no built-in option to save favorites. However, there is a quick sites feature that lets you access some popular locations like Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo!, Google, and several news-related websites, but with no possibility to manage this list.
Furthermore, you have to settle with a single page, because the application doesn’t support multiple tabs, and to make matters worse, only one instance can run at a time. This cuts a bit of practicality, especially given the poor set of features.
To end with
All things considered, we come to the conclusion that MiniBrowser wanted to give up on many of the features that could have used memory for no reason, in an attempt to focus on speed. However, it got stuck along the way, letting you work with only a few features, and without the possibility to have multiple pages open at the same time, not even in separate instances.
