MiniPing Description
MiniPing is a lightweight networking tool developed with a single goal in mind: to help you ping an online resource at a preset time for making sure that your Internet connection remains alive.
It is able to carry out ping operations every 60 seconds in order to avoid Internet disconnections that may appear due to inactivity.
Basic functionality
This unobtrusive program runs quietly in the system tray, so it doesn’t interfere with your work. Basically, it proves to be extremely easy to work with this utility, as it automatically accomplishes the ping process for keeping your Internet connection alive.
Plus, when you hover the mouse cursor over its icon from the system tray, MiniPing reveals the time (in seconds) until the next ping operation is automatically performed.
During our testing we have noticed that MiniPing carries out the ping process very quickly and without errors. It remains light on system resources, so the overall performance of the computer is not hampered.
The lack of configurable settings makes it an ideal application for rookies who are looking for a nothing more than an easy-to-handle layout and automatic functions.
However, more experience users may find it pretty inconvenient to work with a program that doesn’t offer support for advanced features. You cannot change the time when the program pings an online resource, so you are stuck with the preset option, manually perform ping processes, and get information about the minimum, maximum, and mean round-trip times, just to name a few suggestions.
Bottom line
To sum it up, MiniPing seems to be the right choice in case you are looking for a simple-to-use application that comes bundled with basic functions for keeping your Internet connection alive.
