Most pictures nowadays are found on computers, and various applications try to make viewing them a comfortable process. ModernView is one of them and promises to be a handy companion to share your memories with.

Lightweight an easy to use

If the application is running, dragging a desired image over the main window automatically adds all photos from the given directory in a browsing panel. This can also be done from the application's toolbar.
All available options you can work with are easily accessible, you can navigate through imported files, display them in several modes, zoom in or out, rotate, even switch to a slideshow view.

Limitations keep it from being a pro

One of the biggest disadvantages is the unimplemented editing options. Even though its a photo viewer at the core, at least basic editing tools would have come in handy.
Moreover, zooming is done in a slightly unconventional way that takes a little getting used to. The mouse wheel is only a way to scroll through pictures, to zoom in and out several clicks being required.
Last but not least, you are not able to add more photos in your browsing panel besides the existing ones. Doing so only replaces them, thus if you want to view all image files on your computer they have to be in one folder.

Taking everything into consideration, we can say that ModernView is simply another application that lets you view photos. Nothing really seems to make it shine nor seem difficult to use. The only thing that tips the scale in its favor is the breathtaking amount of formats you can import.
