Mp3 2 MiniDisc Description
Multimedia has come a long way since the creation of the computer. A popular delivery method was through disks, including the MiniDisc Sony specially developed for music. However, it came with some limitations, and applications like Mp3 2 MiniDisc want to help you overlook or fix any possible inconveniences.
Thorough feature descriptions to help you out
The first time it launches, the application brings up a prompt with a thorough description so you don’t get stuck along the way. However, the whole process is heavily populated by large text paragraphs that describes what needs to be done with each function, and why.
The general purpose of the application is to add some seconds of silence at the end of audio tracks, so that your MiniDisc player acknowledges it, and differentiates it from others, thus separating tracks, so you don’t fall in an endless loop. With all the descriptions, however, the overall process still manages to feel a bit rough around the edges.
Load files, edit tags, and save lists
Mp3 2 MiniDisc can work either by connecting a MiniDisc device, or loading audio files from your computer. The initial screen lets you set connection settings, and even test it out. By default, it’s set to analog, but you can opt for an optical connection from the preferences menu.
Once the connection is established and configured, you’re required to select the files you want to process. This is done by selecting the source drive from a dedicated drop-down menu, with supported files like MID, WAV, MP3, WMA, ASF, and SND showing up in a different pane. Moreover, common playlist types can also be inserted, with the possibility to also save lists for later use.
Before reaching the final step, there are a few options you can use to edit audio files. Accessed from the context menu, these let you edit tags, in case they’re missing, or apply fade effects. A label maker is also among the set of features, and can easily be launched from the processing screen. When put in motion, options become available to restart, log off, or shut down the computer, just in case you’re not around when it’s done.
To end with
Taking everything into consideration, we can say that MP3 2 MiniDisc comes with good intentions, but is a little ambiguous in the way the set of features is presented. Although packed with helpful descriptions, the general design leaves more to be desired, while the set of features provides little practicality, especially since MiniDiscs have been abandoned some time ago.
