Mp3 tagger Description
Mp3 tagger is a tiny and portable application you can use to edit the tags of one or more MP3 audio tracks at the same time. It features a few options that can be approached even by users with limited experience in tagging tools.
No setup required, besides .NET Framework
The whole program's packed in a single .exe file that you can copy to a preferred directory on the disk or to a USB flash drive, in order to easily run it on any computer. However, .NET Framework must be installed, since it was developed with the help of Microsoft's platform. On the other hand, it doesn't modify your system registry settings or create files on the HDD without your permission.
Clear-cut interface and options
When it comes to the interface, Mp3 tagger adopts a classical window that doesn't put emphasis on graphical elements but it's simple to navigate. You can specify a folder to add all containing MP3 tracks to the task list, as well as include or exclude subfolders.
As far as tag information is concerned, it's possible to edit the title, artist, album, year, track number, comment and genre of any selected tracks from the list. Buttons are available for checking all items, removing checked items, and adding tags to all selected objects.
Evaluation and conclusion
It didn't put a strain on the machine's performance in our tests, thanks to the fact that it needed a low amount of CPU and RAM to function normally. No error dialogs popped up and it didn't hang or crash.
On the other hand, Mp3 tagger hasn't received updates for a pretty long time, and its interface could use some work from the visual point of view. Other than that, it offers a simple and effective solution for changing the ID3 tags of multiple MP3 audio files in bulk, and it can be used for free.
